My friend's 2 dogs were being walked on leashes near Long Pond in Milton vt off Lake Rd on Sat 12/4 about 9am. Closer to home they were unhitched as per routine. The dogs ran towards the house, stopped, looked and listened towards woods then bolted before owners reached them. Searches thru the woods and around the pond (no ice then) have been futile. Tracks covered from the snowstorm that weekend. Thinking the worst since neither returned and it was the start of muzzleloader/ bow season. General area is heavily wooded. 1 is a male 2 yr old Rotti named Cody with red collar - very friendly - predominantly black with some tan, exceptionally tall. Other is 8 yr old collie/shephard mix named Cassie with pink collar - more shy - shrill bark - predominantly black with some white - has a bum leg so would not think she would get too far. Both dogs are familiar with the surrounding area. If both are alive then must be somewhere! ID Tags are on their other collars at home so no way to alert owners. Even if deceased family needs closure! Thank you!
