Lost Dog KILLINGWORTH, CT

  Reunited on 10/26/17
My dog escaped when a gate blew over during a wind storm. She had no contact information on because she was just a few feet away from me on our deck. He only identification was the chip we had implanted when she was a pup. We were panicked. I signed up for an enhanced service level that included the robo calls and faxing local animal rescue services the morning after her escape. After printing the posters, I headed out to try to find our pup. By the time I got to the local vet office, they already had the fax with her picture. Not too long after that I began getting phone calls from neighbors I never met saying they received a robo call and would keep an eye out for her. It turned out a good Samaritan saved her from a busy road and took her to a township shelter. This service didn't actually find my doggie. But they did everything they promised quickly and resulted in a community awareness campaign I didn't have the time to create while actually physically going places to find her. I was reminded again of the good heart and soul of our community, the love that workers in the animal saving organization have for stranger's pets and the power of social media. I believe this service would have been instrumental in finding of my doggie if I hadn't stumbled across her because I recognized her bark at a shelter that was closed when I went to drop off the flyer. There is no substitute for personally canvassing your neighborhood and the local shelters. Doing both will absolutely increase the odds that you find your lost dog. I have 2 suggestions for the folks running the service. 1. Allow the person to select a radius of miles around your lost pet so you can be sure the coverage is as complete as you can afford. The best would be something like the real estate website have where you can draw the area you want included in the canvas. 2. Give a list of the places faxed so you can prioritize your personal visits. Thanks for offering a service so easy to sign up for when time means everything! If you need this service, I hope that you too have a happy ending to your story.
