Call ahead to be sure your dog will be welcome at your hotel/motel.  Be 
sure all vaccinations are current, and have proof of them. Bring along 
their regular food, any medications and their bed and a few toys.  Make 
sure that your dog has a collar & tag with his/her name, phone number 
(including area code, and secondary phone number in case you can't be 
reached.  Carry a picture of your pet in case he gets lost while 
vacationing.  Be sure they are crated or on a leash at all times.

Very nice tip. I think 80% of hotels don't like dogs.
