This is the place to lobby for animals, speak out against cruelty and discuss the latest news and petitions. With enough support we can educate others and give a voice to animals who can't speak for themselves.
SHOULD THERE BE A PUBLIC REGISTRY FOR CRIMINALS CONVICTED OF CRUELTY TO ANIMALS?
California Senator Mike Florez has introduced a groundbreaking new bill
that would help ensure the safety of California's animal and human residents!
If passed, SB 1277 would require criminals convicted of felony cruelty to
animals to be listed on a public registry. Requiring convicted animal
abusers to register would prevent countless animals from being abused by
alerting law enforcement and the public to their whereabouts and by
allowing animal shelters to thoroughly screen potential adopters for
criminal histories.
Please make a brief polite call or e-mail to your state representative and
senator and urge them to support SB 1277.
Calls and e-mails should be placed as soon as possible to ensure that your
voice is heard! Your call will mean the world to animals!
There are sex offender registries, shouldn't there be animal abuser registries?

I think that is a great idea. I hate how people lessen the importance of
Animal abuse because they are animals and not humans. Honestly sometimes
I'm less sympathetic to hearing people getting beat up compared to Animals.
At least humans can wield weapons.

Most definitely! In my opinion, people who are cruel to dogs, or any
animal, should be treated just like child molesters. Give them a good
BEAT DOWN each and every time they're mean to their dog.
I tend to lose it even if I see someone just being verbally abusive
to their dog, there is no excuse for it. People like that shouldn't
be allowed to have a pet!
