Our little rescue foster sheltie was found a few blocks away from his foster mom's home after being lost for 8 days. We always put an ID tag with the foster/new adopter's best contact info. The lady who found Rudy curled up on her front porch found the ID tag with the cell number and called Rudy's foster mom. The rest is a happy ending! In addition to keeping microchip information current it's vital that every dog wear current contact phone numbers for their people. This sped up reuniting Rudy with his foster mom.
