Please, if you ever see cats or ANY animals that may be domesticated, outdoors like on a lawn or just prowling around, it could just be an area close to their territory, Please don't assume that they do not have a home. Some cats are just partially outdoor pets. Their natural instincts are like clockwork, such as the craving to explore. Passerbys may mean well thinking, how cute~poor thing is homeless~ lets rescue them. LESS than 2% of cats are RETURNED home. Before deciding to rescue, do your research,check for missing pet posters etc. Even a veterinarian can determine if its wild or not by a simple checkup.
On May 5th 2013 both of our cats, Bandit and Bobcat, were most likely taken off our lawn in Malverne at the same time! That night when we called out "Bandito...Bobby... time to come home" Never again to be seen. Poof, both cats were gone. Maybe one day Bandit & Bobcat will find their way back to their loving home of 7 years.
